Brucefield Estate

The Brucefield Estate covers around a thousand acres of woodlands and meadows, and has more recently expanded into tourism via cottage lets and ecotourism hideaways.

Slackbrae

Slackbrae is their holiday cottage, which was fully renovated over recent years and provides a cosy cottage option to their holiday offerings.

Schenbothies

The estate also offer lodges and tinyhome experiences via their 'Schenbothies'. These bothies are constructed entirely from timber and can accommodate up to two people, perfect for a cosy romantic getaway or for the eco-conscious holiday maker looking for a more sustainable Scottish holiday.

You’ll find a fully functional modern bathroom complete with a shower, WC, and underfloor heating. In the kitchen area there is a hob, oven and fridge. Sleeping is in the gallery with a twin or super king size mattress on Tatami mats. The walls are insulated to today’s residential building standards. This makes the bothies cosier than the average UK home, which in turn ensures your stay has a lower impact on the environment.

Location

The Estate is located in an off the beaten path area of Clackmannanshire in central Scotland it is well served by the Sustrans NCN-764 cycleway, which connects to several other cycle routes locally. This flat cycle route was once a railway line, and some remnants of it's past are still visible. Going East you can visit the newly bestowed City of Dunfermline, where kings are buried. Going west, the historic county town of Clackmannan and the former brewing town of Alloa. Being traffic-free, this stretch of the cycle route is perfect for young kids just starting out on balance bikes who need lots of space, as well as for those who haven’t cycled for a while.

The estate has a small selection of bicycles for hire.
