Coalsnaughton is a small ex-mining village to the south of Tillicoultry, and its nearer neighbour, Devonside. It has expanded since the mid-20th century, with Coalsnaughton's population in 2016 being put at 1250. It has essentially joined with Devonside on its north end.
The village was originally built to house employees of the local coal mines and has a primary school and retail street. Some small businesses operate out of buildings in Coalsnaughton.
