Devon Village from the A908
A small settlement in just outside Fishcross, Devon Village lies a quarter mile north northeast of Fishcross and one and a quarter miles southwest of Tillicoultry. The Alloa Coal Company's Devon Colliery was once located near here, along with Devon Iron Works and a Brickworks, but all that remains is the Devon Colliery Beam Engine House, dating from 1865, which is on a road between Devon Village and Old Sauchie Tower.
The row of cottages were refurbished externally some years ago and are typical of row cottages throughout the county. The former brickworks site was used for many years as a roadworks depot. Devon Village is very close to Benview, It's (now much larger) neighbour.
